FAQs
Are pets allowed at the event?
Yes, pets are welcome to attend the event, but for the safety of all guests, all pets must remain leashed and under control at all times.
Please consider your pet’s comfort level before bringing them. The event can include large crowds, heat, and loud burner noises from the balloons, which may be overwhelming for some animals.
Can I bring my own cooler & picnic? Will there be food & beverage available at the event?
No outside food or drink coolers, please. Remember, this event is a fundraiser for type 1 diabetes, and supporting the vendors helps support the cause.
The event will feature food vendors and refreshments, so guests can grab something to eat and drink while enjoying the balloons and activities. Your purchases help support the mission behind the event.
Can I bring lawn chairs or blankets?
Absolutely! Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets to relax and enjoy the event. There will be plenty of open space to sit back, watch the balloons, and take in the views.
What should I wear or bring to the event?
The spectator field has very little shade, so we recommend dressing for the weather. June afternoons can sometimes be very hot before the sun goes down, so lightweight clothing, hats, and sunscreen are a good idea.
Comfortable shoes are also recommended, as the event takes place on a large open field. Planning ahead will help ensure you stay comfortable while enjoying the balloons and festivities.
Is smoking allowed?
Smoking is STRICTLY forbidden on the grounds of the GFPBR. Due to the open flames of the balloons and potential pockets of propane in the air, smoking could be extremely dangerous for pilots, crew, and spectators.
